THREE EXCELLENT FOODS TO HELP PREVENT DISEASE!

CHILI PEPPERS -  Capsaicin, a compound found in chili peppers, is the key to their health promoting powers.  The current research suggests that the capsaicin can do everything from preventing sinus conditions, to lowering cholesterol to reducing cancer cell growth.  It has also been shown to increase your metabolism which can help promote weight loss.  If you can handle the heat of the chili peppers, they are a great food to include in your diet.

WALNUTS - In walnuts you will find an excellent source of alpha-linoleic acid (ALA) which has been shown to help protect against cardiovascular disease.   Also walnuts contain an antioxidant known as ellagic acid which helps support your immune system and may help prevent cancer.  The walnut also provides magnesium and copper, both of which fight free radical production, promoting healthy, disease free aging.  Use out of hand, in salads, or chopped up on your cooked vegies! 

SPINACH - If it could keep Popeye healthy, what you are waiting for?  Spinach is a rich source of the antioxidant lutein which protects against cancer, cardiovascular disease and several types of eye diseases, including macular degeneration and cataracts.  Spinach is high in iron, calcium and a lost of other minerals and vitamins thereby making it a great choice to promote health and prevent diseases.  Use it in a salad, soups, quiches or just plain.
